Stepson facing murder charges

An alleged domestic dispute has left one Copiah County resident dead and one facing murder charges.

Justin Barron, 19, has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his stepfather Matthew Miller, Sr.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene at the family’s residence on Wooten Lane in Wesson Friday evening, June 25.

The shooting allegedly occurred after a domestic dispute between the suspect, the victim, and the victim’s wife, who is Barron’s mother; the investigation is ongoing at this point, reports Jerry Spell, investigator with the Copiah County Sheriff’s Department.

Bond has been set at $100,000 for Barron.
