Ray Quinnelly
Rev. Ather Ray Quinnelly, 65, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at his home.
Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Friday, July2, at Stringer Family Funeral Home. Services will be 11am Saturday, July 3, from Sardis Baptist Church with interment in Sardis Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mr. Quinnelly had worked at Grand Gulf Nuclear Power Plant in Port Gibson. He owned Magnolia Auction Company and was an auctioneer. He farmed and owned Ray’s Pilot Service. He was pastor at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Union Church. He previously was pastor at New Zion Baptist Church in Liberty. He and his wife, Deborah was very active in helping establish Hispanic Ministry through Copiah Baptist Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Faith Quinnelly, father, Ather Ford Quinnelly, and mother, Mary Cleo Quinnelly.
Survivors include: son, Tim Quinnelly of Brandon; daughter, Amy Quinnelly White of Byram; sister, Julia Bickham of Baltimore, Maryland; and grandchildren, Brittany Easterling, Dwayne Easterling, Jessica Adkins, Kelsey Adkins, and Kaylee White.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hispanic Ministry, c/o Dr. Pat Bufkin, Copiah Baptist Association, P. O. Box 230, Hazlehurst, MS 39083.
