Mary Matilda Kyle
Mary Matilda Kyle, 88, formerly of Georgetown, died Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Wisteria Gardens in Pearl.
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, July 5, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street in Jackson. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 5, at Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 472, Hazlehurst, with Rev. Wallace Clark officiating.
Mary Kyle was born in Georgetown and was a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Junior College, the University of Southern Mississippi, and George Peabody College for Teachers. She taught school for 41 years in the Jackson Public Schools (Bailey Jr. High) and in Copiah County. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, the Retired Teachers’ Association, and Alpha Delta Alpha.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred F. Kyle, Sr., and Mary Emma Gandy Kyle; and brothers, Robert A. Kyle, P. B. (Pete) Kyle, and Alfred (Slick) Kyle, Jr.
Survivors include: sister, Lavelle Kyle Hearn of Hattiesburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
