Norma Nicholas

Norma Legget Arrington Nicholas, 82, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Hospice Ministries. 

Visitation will be 4pm-7pm Wednesday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.  Services will be 10am Thursday at Stringer Family Chapel with interment in Hazlehurst Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Nicholas was born in Hammond, Indiana on July 5, 1928.  She was an honor
graduate of Copiah-Lincoln High School and Junior College.  In addition, she was
also a graduate of The University of Mississippi.

Mrs. Nicholas was preceded in death by her parents, Early Wright and Ruth King
Leggett.  Also by her husband Richard Olney Arrington Jr., of Hazlehurst, who
passed away in 1969.  She later married Bruce L. Nicholas who died in 1975.  She
was also preceded in death by her daughter Rebecca Jeanne Arrington.  

She was an active member of the Fort Rosalie Chapter of the Daughters of the
American Revolution and a former member of the Regent of Cherokee Rose Chapter in Hazlehurst.  She was  member of Gallaway Methodist Church and served as a volunteer at three main Exhibits in Jackson.  She has been Docent at the Old Capital Museum for many years.  

Survivors include:  sons, Richard Olney Arrington, III, and his wife Deborah of Jackson,  and George Early Nicholas and his wife Mara of Hendersonville, NC;  grandchildren, Jacob Aaron Nicholas of Hendersonville, NC and Lacy Legget Fugate of Lady Lake, Florida, Ashley Thompson of Birmingham; and Scott Henwood Arrington of El Dorado, Arkansas.
