Viola McKenzie Delaney,

Viola McKenzie Delaney, 85, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst.

Services are 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, at Bethel Baptist Church in Hazlehurst, with burial in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Delaney was born in Copiah County on July 30, 1925, to Will McKenzie and Lou McKenzie.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Troy Virgil Delaney; her daughter, Linda Faye Priest; her grandsons, Authur Priest, Timothy Priest and Christopher Priest; her brothers, Burnice McKenzie, J.C. McKenzie and William McKenzie; and her sisters, Deliah Granger, Rosie Nell Granger and Wilma Granger.

Survivors include: her sons, Troy Jim Delaney and wife, Margaret; her daughter, Montiel Delaney McLemore and husband, Ronnie; her sisters, Emma Lee Delaney, Christine Case, Mildred Gladden, Levunia Windom and Elizabeth Jane White; and her six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
