Mr. Sandifer was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Following five years of
service, he and his wife returned to Crystal Springs where he began his career as a farmer and a produce broker. He was passionate and enthusiastic about his life and his six-decade-long career. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, was outgoing and sincere when meeting new people and throughout his life, was very generous to others in need. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, J. K. Sandifer, of Crystal Springs.
He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs. After
moving to Monticello, he also became a member of Monticello Baptist Church.
He is survived by wife of 66 years, Phyllis Weiss Sandifer; one son, Dudley
Sandifer, III and wife Jeanie of Monticello; two granddaughters, Lori Sandifer
Lockwood and husband Rick of Georgetown, TX, and Susan Sandifer Weber and husband David of Memphis, TN; three great grandchildren, Graydon Lockwood, Henry Lockwood, and Julia Rose Weber and special nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Monticello Baptist Church in Monticello, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
