Final MS football rankings released

The Mississippi Prep Sports Source

There really isn’t much mystery as to which high school football team is the best in Mississippi.
South Panola is ranked No. 1 in the Mississippi Prep Prep Sports Source’s season-ended Super 30 Rankings. The Tigers finished the season with a 15-0 record and easily won the MHSAA Class 6A State title, extending their record of domination of the state’s largest classification.
Meridian High School, which lost to South Panola in that title game, is ranked No. 2, followed by Class 5A State champion West Point at No. 3 and Class 4A state champ Lafayette County at No. 4.
Madison Central, which finished the year at 12-2 on the season in Class 6A, is No. 5, while class 3A champion Forest is ranked No. 6 after finishing the season at 15-0.
Brookhaven used an incredible late season and playoff run to come in at No. 7 with a 9-5 record, followed by West Jones — of its victims — at No. 8 and Northwest Rankin at No. 9. Olive Branch rounds out the top 10.
Class 2A champion Lumberton is ranked No. 29 and Calhoun City, the 2A runner-up, at No. 30.
