Bobbie Goings Farrar

Bobbie Goings Farrar,  94,  of Clinton, died Thursday, February 10, 2011.

Visitation will be 9am-10am Saturday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.  Graveside services will be 10am Saturday at Hazlehurst Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

She was born September 8, 1916 to Thomas and Martha Goings of Utica.  She married the love of her life, B. C. Farrar, on December 6, 1936.  They made their home in Hazlehurst.  She was retired from Sherman and Company Dept. Store, where she and B. C. managed the store until his death in 1974.  Afterwards she worked as a sitter until 1993.  She was an active member of First Baptist Church until she moved in 1994 to Clinton.  She joined Northside Baptist Church and then Pineview Baptist Church in Clinton.  She loved her Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible daily.  She was an avid gardener and loved working in her flower beds.  Her yard brought joy to many both in Hazlehurst and Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, her
son Colvin Farrar and grandson Jim Young, Jr.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lanell and Thomas Gatewood,
granddaughters, Michelle Shearer and Kenneth of Puckett, Debra Farrar-Schneider and Bobby of Valparaiso, IN; grandson, James C. Farrar, Jr., 7 great granddaughters; Kimi and Lynn Denton, Katie, Olivia and Casey Rae Young, Ashleigh Schneider, Triniti Farrar  and 2 great grandsons, Parker Young and Robert Schneider.
