Quitman Burns

Quitman Burns, 89, of Wesson, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 in Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Dr. from 5-9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. from the funeral home with interment in Rocky Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Burns was born June 25, 1921 to Connie L. “Bill” Burns and Rebecca Smith Burns. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 66 years Ruby Nell Britt Burns; son, Tony Quitman Burns; brothers, Marvin Burns, C.L. Burns, Robert Leroy Burns; and sisters, Vivian Burns Pickett and Carolee Burns Ingram.

Survivors include: son, Willie Burns and wife Myra of Wesson;  grandchildren, Bobby Burns, Roger Burns, Jerry Burns, Teresa Burns Calloway, Stacy Burns Robbins, Tammy Burns Barlow, Susie Burns Gandenberger, Jody Burns, and Ashley Burns; and 16 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Burns, Roger Burns, Jerry Burns, Cody Burns, Jody Burns, Keith Calloway, Brian Barlow, and Tony Robbins. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Burns, Peyton Burns, Colby Calloway, Bryce Langley, Cole Gandenberger, Jack Landon Burns, and Bryant Parker Robbins.
