Lena Mae Little
Lena Mae (Myers) Little, 90, of Crystal Springs, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at her home.
Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Thursday, May 12 at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services will be 11am Friday from Stringer Family Chapel with interment in Hazlehurst Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Little was born in Rockport to Jessie R. and Mollie E. Myers. She spent
most of her life in Copiah County. She graduated from Georgetown High School in 1939. From there she went on to Wesson where she met her husband, Smylie Little. They were married 42 years and were blessed with four children.
Mrs. Little spent her early years looking after their family and working outside
the home. She took the advice of her doctor and went to nursing school. She
went to work in nursing homes, hospitals and later doing private duty nursing.
She loved her patients and they loved her.
Mrs. Little loved to travel and between work and vacation time she was able to
travel all over the states, Nova Scotia and Hawaii with her many friends. She
was a member of the Eastern Star and Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Little was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Mollie Myers;
husband, Smylie Little, and a son, Charles Little.
She is survived by her sons, Jim (Smylie) Little of Crystal Springs and John
Wayne Little and wife Rita of Green Cove Springs; and daughter, Pat Street and husband Gene of Phoenix, AZ
