Thelma Rushing

Thelma Rushing, 94, of Georgetown, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at her home.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, from First Pentecostal Church of Georgetown with interment in Magee City Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rushing was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie T. Rushing; parents, Charlie and Nora Blackwell Welch; and brothers, Virgil Welch, Eldridge Welch and Alvis Welch.

Survivors include: sons,  Sammie Glen Rushing (Elizabeth) of Magee, Travis Rushing (Nelda) of Crystal Springs, Hugh James Rushing (Carolyn) of Byram and Jimmy Rushing of Georgetown; daughter, Arlene Jones of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Lazarus Allen, Danny Coleman, Gregory Maddox, Darien Rushing, Ricky Shane Rushing and Doug Warren III.
