The Southwest Central Southern Miss Alumni Association, covering the counties of Copiah, Lincoln. Lawrence, Pike, Amite, and Walthall counties will be hosting the 2011 Alumni Dinner in June. Retired Major General Jeffery Hammond, now the Associate Athletic Director at Southern Mississippi, will be the guest speaker at the Southwest Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter of the University of Southern Mississippi’s Alumni Dinner on Thursday, June 23, at 6:30p.m at Mr. Whisker’s Family Catfish Restaurant. General Hammond was a survivor of the Pentagon attack on 9-11 and later served as commanding officer of the 4th Infantry Division and coalition troops in Baghdad.
