Constitutional Initiative Public Hearing Dates Released
Jackson, MS—According to State law, the Secretary of State’s Office is required to hold public hearings across the State for each of the initiatives on the upcoming General Election ballot.
“The initiative process allows the citizens of the State of Mississippi an avenue for addressing important constitutional issues which the State Legislature does not,” says Secretary Hosemann. “Our Agency is currently in the ‘voter information’ stage of the initiative process. These hearings provide an open forum for meaningful discussion on these issues, and we encourage the public to attend.”
All hearings will begin promptly at 5:30 pm and are open to the public and media.
Each of the initiative topics will be discussed at the public hearing times outlined below:
