Cuba Phillips
Cuba Phillips, 72, of Georgetown, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at her home.
Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Friday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst and 10am-11am Saturday at Georgetown Baptist Church. Services will be 11am Saturday at Georgetown Baptist Church with burial in Georgetown Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Phillips was a native of Copiah County. She attended Co-Lin. She grew up in Hazlehurst and had lived in Georgetown for 47 years where she was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church. Mrs. Phillips was a bookkeeper for Junior Food Mart in Jackson until retiring in 2000 and later worked for Georgetown Town Hall for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Phillips, a son, Yancy Phillips, and two brothers, Vern and Troy McManus.
She is survived by son Robin Phillips (Patty) of Georgetown; daughter, Cindy Sargent of Georgetown; sisters, Ruby Compton of Biloxi, Florence Culbertson of Maples, FL, and Jo Grant of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Mindy McFarland (Craig), Whitney Phillips, Lindsey Phillips, and Chance Phillips; and great granddaughter, Kameron Phillips
