Rhoda Leona Davis, 81, of Petal, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.
Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Thursday, July 21 at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Services will be 2pm Friday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Davis was a native of Franklin, LA. She had lived most of her adult life in Copiah County and Jackson. She was known as the Avon Lady.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lamar Davis, Sr., parents, a brother, a sister, and a granddaughter.
Survivors include: sons, Thomas (Tommy) Lamar Davis, Jr., and wife Cynthia of Bay Springs, Jackie Davis of Raymond, William Jerry Davis and wife Debbie of Petal, Ricky Davis and wife Margaret of Richland, and Maxie Davis and wife Kim of Raymond; daughters, Marilyn Templeton of Hazlehurst, Linda Carolyn Lewis and husband Bobby of Pearl, and Joyce Scarborough and husband Dale of Mendenhall; brothers, Lewis Carlisle of Hazlehurst, Harold Carlisle of Van Nyes, CA; brother-in-law Carroll Davis of Georgetown; sisters-in-law, Diane Thedford and husband Don of Dentville and Janie Edwards of Vicksburg; 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
