Andrew James (A.J.) Whittington III
Andrew James (A.J.) Whittington III, 67, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 29 at Gallman Baptist Church from 11 am until 1 pm. Services will be held at 1 p.m. at the church.
Born in Hazlehurst May 17, 1944, Mr. Whittington graduated from Hazlehurst High School and Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He was employed at MP&L for 24 years. He was a member and Deacon at Gallman Baptist Church, and an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed deer and turkey hunting.
He was preceded in death by father Andrew James (A.J.) Whittington, Jr. and mother Betty Brewer.
Survivors include: wife Ada Harris Whittington; son, Dr. Ken Whittington; daughters, Sharon Newman (Mark) and Susan Lee (Chris); sisters: Phyllis Dillard (Reed) and Cola Ashley; grandchildren: Lauren, Erin, and Caleb Whittington; B.J., Asa, and David Newman.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be given to the Gallman Baptist Church building fund.
