Former Indian coach meets with Vikings

Former Hazlehurst head coach and current Alcorn State assistant Todd McDaniel, left, visits with Minnesota Vikings QB Donovan McNabb.

Todd McDaniel was invited to attend the 2011 Minnesota Vikings Training Camp – for most coaches this is a to-die-for honor.  He arrived at arrived in Eden Prairie, Minnesota on July 27.  The camp lasted for a week.
Shortly after arriving, McDaniel attended his first coaches’ meeting with the Minnesota Vikings’ coaching staff.
“The most important experience for me was being able to see the infrastructure of an NFL organization,” stated McDaniel.
McDaniel was given total access to Vikings Head Coach Leslie Frazier. Fraizer is a 1979 graduate of Alcorn State University.
“Another treat for was being able to pick the brain of arguably the best defensive line coach in the NFL, Karl Dunbar. “Coach Dunbar gave me every technique that he uses with his All Pro defensive line,” continued McDaniel.
“It was a great honor to work with a NFL organization. I’m very appreciative that Coach Frazier gave me all access. He invited me to come back and work the 2012 Minnesota Vikings Training Camp,” MaDaniel stated.
McDaniel is a graduate of Hazlehurst High School and Alcorn State University.  He is the former head coach of Hazlehurst High School and Wingfield High School .  He currently is on staff at  Alcorn State University.
