LT. Col. James W. Blair (Ret)

LT. Col.  James W. Blair (Ret), 82, of Hattiesburg died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Decell United Methodist Church in Wesson. Interment will be in Wesson Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM Wednesday at Decell United Methodist Church.

Mr. Blair was a retired LT. Col. in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Battlefield Commission and Bronze Star in the Korean War.  While serving in Vietnam, he was a recipient of two Oak Leaf Clusters added to the Bronze Star.

Survivors include: wife, Bennie Blair of Hattiesburg; daughters, Brenda Thompson of Knoxville, TN and Marcia Meyers of Fort Lee, N.J.; one sister; two brothers; and three grandchildren.
