Jerry Louis Wesbrooks, Sr.

Jerry Louis Wesbrooks, Sr., 76, of Wesson, died at University Medical Center on January 7, 2012.

Visitation: will be Monday 5-8 pm on January 9, 2012 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Brookhaven.

Services: Tuesday January 10,  at 2:00 pm at Sylvarena Baptist Church, Wesson MS. with interment at the Church Cemetery.

He was born August 18, 1935 in Morgan City Mississippi to Herschel Carl Wesbrooks and Lessie V. Richardson Wesbrooks

He was a native of Leflore County and lived his adult life in Jackson until moving to Wesson in 1988.

A graduate of Central High School in Jackson he continued his education receiving his masters degree from the Ford Institute. He retired from the Automobile industry and worked more than 40 years in the Jackson area.

Mr. Wesbrooks served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post # 79 in Wesson.

He was an active member of Sylvarena Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and a member of Co-Lin Institute for Learning in Retirement, avid golfer and a baseball and football fan of his grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Hershal John Wesbrooks, Carl McLean Wesbrooks, and sister Joyce Wesbrooks.

Survivors include: his wife Joy Lowery Wesbrooks; sons Jerry Wesbrooks, Jr. (Vicki) Magee, MS.: Randy Dale Lowery (Scottye) Wesson; Danny Michael Lowery (Julie) Wesson; daughter Cynthia Wesbrooks, Kilmichael; sister Patsy Bassett (Frankie) Crystal Springs; and grandchildren: Stacey Hollis (Dustin) Honoula Hawaii; Mac Lowery (Kacie) Wesson; April Magee (Rob) Magee MS; Brenton Wesbrooks (Monica) Magee, MS.; Ky Lowery, Connor Lowery, Cade Lowery, Wesson and two great grandchildren-Riley Wesbrooks and Robbie Lowery.

Pallbearers: Ky Lowery, Mac Lowery, Adam Gladden, Hillry Britt, Van Britt, Russell Slay, Ronnie Walker, Connor Lowery, Cade Lowery

Honorary Pallbearers: Co-Lin golf Buddies and Sylvarena Deacons.
