Jewel Remington
Jewell Estelle Remington, 96, of Wesson, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Silver Cross Nursing Home.
Visitation will be 10am-11am Wednesday at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Services will be 11am Wednesday at Zion Hill Baptist Church with burial in Zion Hill Cemetery. Zion Hill Baptist Church is on Martinsville Road, I-55 Exit 56 E. for about 8 miles on Martinsville Road. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Remington was a lifelong resident of Copiah County. She was born January 18, 1915 to Robert L. and Nellie Belle Hammons James. She was a lifetime member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she served in various capacities.
Mrs. Remington was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Claude Adam Remington, a daughter-in-law Barbarba Ann Remington and five brothers, Virgil, Carl, Arthur, R.L. and Roy James.
She is survived by a son Claude Edwin Remington and daughter Jewel Claudine Remington Stogner and husband Charlie; three grandchildren, Darla Jewel and husband Scott Mirth, Claudeann and husband Nelson Thames and Kelly Elizabeth and husband Cyrus Reynolds; six great grandchildren, Thomas and Audrey Mirth, David and Laina Thames, and Christian and Conner Reynolds plus numerous nieces and nephews.
