Dr. Carl S. Bozeman
Dr. Carl Stephens Bozeman, 86, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012.
Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Friday and 9:30am-10:30am Saturday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Services will be 11am Saturday at First Baptist Church Hazlehurst with burial in Hazlehurst Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Dr. Bozeman was a U. S. Marine Veteran of WWII serving in Saipan, Marianas Islands, Iwo Jima, and Volcano Islands. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University and a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. He was a life member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Bozeman was past president of the Copiah County Fair Association, Board member of Copiah Water Association, and past president of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. He was a member of the Mississippi Cattlemen’s Assocation and a state director. Dr. Bozeman was 1996 Forester of the year. He was a founding member and past president of Copiah Educational Foundation. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church Hazlehurst.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Higdon Bozeman; sons, Carl Stephens Bozeman, Jr. and wife Becky of Hazlehurst and Jeffrey Neal Bozeman and wife Lynn of Brookhaven; daughters, Vicki Bozeman Gaddy and husband Herschell of Brookhaven and Kimberly Bozeman Hood and husband Jerry of Wesson; sister, Mary Bozeman of Madison; and grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Gaddy, Carl Stephen Bozeman, Jerry Warren Hood, Jr., Joshua Bozeman Hood, Jeffrey Neal Bozeman, Jr., Kathryn Allen Gaddy, Rebecca Grace Bozeman, William Hunter Hood, Christopher Peyton Hood, Jacob Tisdale Bozeman, Abby Wilson Bozeman, Meredith Jewell Bozeman, and Rachel Ann Bozeman.
