Frances Freiler Nobles
Visitation will be at the Hazlehurst United Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, with a memorial service immediately afterwards. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is handling arrangments.
She was born in McComb, Mississippi on October 18, 1920, and grew up in Norfield and Canton. After graduation from Canton High School, she attended Gulf Park College and graduated from Duke University.
Survivors include: her daughter Russell Ann Nobles and son-in-law Don Lasker of New York City, daughter Fay Barrett and son-in-law Peter Barrett of Gulfport, daughter Susan Smith and son-in-law Randy Smith of Cincinnati, son Carl Nobles of Hazlehurst, and sister Carlene Pyron of Hazlehurst; and four grandchildren – William Barrett of Jackson, Susan Barrett of Houston, Texas, Sarah Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Steven Smith of Washington, D.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials for Frances be made to the Hazlehurst United Methodist Church or Felder Methodist Campmeeting (c/o Judy Van Norman, 4090 Summit-Holmesville Road, McComb, Mississippi 39648).
