Two officers resign from Sheriff’s office

The Copiah County Board of Supervisors accepted the resignation of two officers from the Sheriff’s Office at their last meeting for the month on March 19.
At Sheriff Harold Jones’ request, the board approved the resignations of Chad Sills, Criminal and Fire Investigator, and David Drumm.
Sills resigned to return to private sector running his father’s glass business. David Drumm resigned because he has been deployed to Afghanistan.
Jeremy Thornton will move from patrol deputy into investigations, and Timothy Stevens will move from part-time to full-time.
The board approved the step salary increase for Officer William Saul.
Also, the board approved the expenses for Chief Deputy Derrick Cubit to attend a five-day, Hostage Negotiation Conference in Louisiana.
Sheriff Jones entered into the record that Officer Victoria Ramsey passed her test and will graduate from the police academy on Thursday, March 22.
