Rt. Brig. Gen. Alvin Lack
John Alvin Lack, 71, of Georgetown, died Friday, April 13, 2012 due to injuries from an automobile accident.
Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 and Tuesday from 10-11 at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services will be 11am Tuesday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Crystal Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Lack was born April 26, 1940 in Crystal Springs. He graduated from Crystal Springs Consolidated High School in 1958 and from Copiah-Lincoln Jr. College in 1960.
His Military services began in 1959 when he enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He graduated from the Ms Military Academy and received his commission in 1963. He retired in 2005 as Brigadier General. He was a member of the Ms Athletic Officials Association where he officiated football and baseball for 38 years. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Winnie Walters Lack and brother, James Ricky Lack.
Survivors include his father, Gatha Lack; wife, Maxine Lack; daughter Tonja Lack Holland and husband Gene; son, Clint Lack; grandchildren, Eric Howell, Keri Howell, Travis Holland, Cody Lack and Reilly Kate Lack.
