Hazlehurst Chamber hosts quarterly meeting on Wednesday

The Hazlehurst Area Chamber of Commerce’s  quarterly meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 11th at noon at Rolling Hills CC north of Gallman on Hwy. 51.  Joy Melinda Foy, Director of the Asset Development Division of the Mississippi Development Authority, will be guest speaker.
Her primary responsibility is centered on community development. The current programs include both the MS Creative Economy, and the MS Hometown Retirement.
Foy is experienced in economic development after serving for 13 years, first as Vice President of Marketing and later as Deputy Director of the Madison County Economic Development Authority. She is a member of the Southern Economic Development Council; Canton Lion’s Club; International Council of Shopping Centers, founding member of the Professional Women Association; Designated Representative for MDA on the Mississippi Main Street Board; Chairman of the Central Mississippi RC&D Council and serves on the board for the Mississippi Economic Development and the Tenn-Tom Waterways Council.
Foy and her husband James have two children. A son, Jamie who is married to Lise and they live in Canton and a daughter, Jenny married to Jason Alonge who lives in Gainesville, VA.
She is a member of 1st Baptist Church in Canton.
