Lady Colonels soccer falls to PCS
Copiah Academy girls soccer coach Tom Roberson knew that Presbyterian Christian would be a stiff test for his young Lady Colonels. His concerns proved to be well-founded as the Lady Bobcats blanked CA 8-0 last week in Gallman.
“Last year, they beat us 12-0,” Roberson recalled afterwards, “and this year, they led 6-0 at the half. We held them to only two goals in the second half. It could have been a lot worse.”
Not only did Copiah lose the game. They also lost one of their best players, Kaela Jones, to a knee injury. She had surgery later in the week and is likely through for the season.
The Lady Colonels, now 1-1, will try to regroup as they head to East Rankin on Tuesday and to Jackson Prep on Thursday.
