Rockin’ Trail Run results posted

The smiling faces of participants tells the whole story about the first ever Rockin’ Trail Run event, held Saturday, September 29 in conjunction with the fourth annual Rockin’ Railroad Festival presented by the Hazlehurst Area Chamber of Commerce.  A total of 103 runners were on hand. Winners of the 5K run are listed here.  Sam Gearhart, 16, of Clinton took first place with a time of 20 minutes and 37 seconds  Conner Chapin, 13, of Gallman, was the highest local finisher, capturing third place in 23:20.  Elizabeth McKinley of Hazlehurst was the fastest female with a time of 29:30.
Eric Walker, a former Hazlehurst resident now living in Pearl, took the top spot in the 10K run.
Beverly Brower of Jackson was the top female in the 10k at 50:19.
The event was planned and organized by Amy Keywood, a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the community through the Chamber, Keywood said last week.
