Clarence Foster

Clarence Foster, 84, of Wesson passed away December 19, 2012 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. 

Visitation will be 5pm-9pm Friday and 10am-11am Saturday at Spring Hill Baptist Church.  Services will be 11am Saturday at Spring Hill Baptist Church with burial at Bethel Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Mr. Foster was a native and lifelong resident of Copiah County.  He graduated high school at Wesson.  He was a sewing machine mechanic for more than 40 years.  Mr. Foster was a member and a deacon at Spring Hill Baptist Church.  After retiring he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Roadside Parks in Mississippi.  He was a Master Mason, Hazlehurst Lodge #25.  He was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by first wife of 54 years, Frances Lavelle Foster, his parents, Marvin Oscar Foster and Mary Inez Furlow Foster, a brother, Willard Boyd Foster, and a sister, Margaret Kennedy Curtis.
He is survived by wife, Ruth Lewis Foster; sons, John Everett Foster of Purvis, Larry Wayne Foster of Terry; step-sons, Oscar Foster and Mike Foster both of Wesson; daughter, Betty Ann Martin of Atlanta, GA; brother, Robert Marvin Foster of Hazlehurst; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
