UPDATE: 9:07 a.m.)
Hazlehurst Middle School students have re-entered campus and are settling in for a ‘normal’ day of classes, after authorities proved an earlier bomb threat as a hoax.  Local authorities are still investigating the possible criminal act, but everyone is safe.

A bomb threat on this dreary, raw Monday morning has caused closure of Hazlehurst Middle School and evacuation of all students from the school to Antioch M. B. Church on Hwy. 51.
Authorities from at least a half a dozen agencies are currently investigating on campus, as officials from Copiah County Emergency Management and area volunteer fire departments were mobilized to prevent civilians from entering campus.
