Wolves bow to Hinds 83-70

UTICA – The Hinds Bulldogs kept their playoff hopes alive by defeating the Co-Lin Wolves 80-73. The Wolves (4-18, 2-9) will host the South Division leader Pearl River on Thursday in the last regular season game of the year. The Bulldogs took a 42-37 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Co-Lin shot 44 percent (27-of-62) from the field while the Bulldogs shot 46 percent (26-of-57). Hinds had the advantage at the free throw line going 23-of-31 (74 percent). The Wolves made 9-of-23 free throws for 30 percent.

Sophomore Tim Harrison led Co-Lin with a team-high 22 points. Joseph Cunningham added 18 points. Fred Fairman chipped in 13 points and pulled down 6 rebounds. Eric Smith also pulled down 6 rebounds. Jay Case and Demetrius Mobley dished out 4 assists each.

Hinds is currently tied for fourth place in the division with Gulf Coast with a 6-5 division record. The top four teams in the division qualify for the MACJC State Tournament that will begin next week.

Three Bulldogs scored in double figures led by Marcus Hurn with a game-high 25 points. Dominique Brown and Matthew Hurn added 20 and 17 points respectively. Tremaine Cunningham led off the backboards with 6 rebounds. Matthew Hurn dished out 4 assists.
