Pendleton deployed to Middle East

Whitney Pendleton, a native of Hazlehurst, and 2007 graduate of Hazlehurst High school, is currently deployed to the Middle East aboard the Navy aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).

Her job onboard the ship is Aviation Ordinanceman, which means she loads and unloads bombs, missiles, and ammunition from the fighter jets, as well as safely stores and maintains all the ordinance used onboard.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Responsibility promoting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
