Jimmy Dale “J.D.” Williamson

Jimmy Dale “J.D.” Williamson, 64, of Summit, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the SWRMC in McComb, MS.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 PM until 8 PM at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home of McComb. Visitation will resume again on Wednesday from 9 AM until services at 10 AM at the funeral home. Bro. Mike Barron and Bro. Mike Albritton will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Summit.
 
Mr. Williamson was born in Pike County, MS on May 15, 1949. He is the son of the late Ilance ‘Sue” and Ophelia Lester Williamson.
 
Mr. Williamson was of the Baptist faith and was owner operator of Williamson Tire and Muffler in Brookhaven, and co-owner of Williamson Tack in Summit. His family said he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather who was loved by all friends and extended family. He was a very caring and giving man known for, “putting others, before self”. He was a horse lover and spent numerous years as a member of the Wesson Wagon Train. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
 
He is preceded by his parents, first wife, Joyce A. Williamson, one brother, Billy Joe “Bear” Williamson, two sisters, Molly Williamson and Margie Kimble.
 
He is survived by his wife, Leslie D. Dodds Williamson, two sons, Randy D. Williamson and Corey Sykes; one daughter, Shannon Sykes Erwin and husband, Joey, one brother David Earl Williamson and wife, Brenda; four grandchildren, Layla Williamson, Tate Williamson, Autumn “Peanut” Erwin and Lilli-Anne Sykes; one great-granddaughter, Dannah Berlin; two sister in-law, Geraldine “Gerlie” Williamson and Dianne Johnson with numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Pallbearers will be Willo Pearson, Dylan Berlin, Joey Erwin, Tracy Lofton, Keith “Kemo” Brown and Timmy “Jabo” Brown.
 
Honorary pallbearers will be Tate Williamson and Bengi Wroten.
 
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Blair E. Batson Hospital Div of Public Affairs U.M.C. Medical Center 2500 N. State St. Jackson, MS 39216
