Charlene Andrews, 84, of Crystal Springs, died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Hospice Ministries.
Visitation will be 11am-1pm Wednesday at New Zion Baptist Church. Services will be 1pm Wednesday at New Zion Baptist Church with burial at New Zion Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangement.
Mrs. Andrews was a graduate of Millsaps College. She was the secretary for 16 years for Capital Street United Methodist Church. She was then the Director of the Hinds County Mental Health Association and later was the Executive Director for Crossroads Services, Inc. Mrs. Andrews retired as Public Relations Director of Mississippi Methodist Rehab Center.
Mrs. Andrews was a member of New Zion Baptist Church and the Muscular Sclerosis Society. She was the President of the Jackson PTA.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ray Andrews, Sr.; sons, Ray Andrews, Jr., John Andrews (Michelle), and Charles Andrews (Patty) all of Crystal Springs; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
