Dorothy Heggins
Dorothy Van Etten Heggins, 77, of Hazlehurst, died Turesday, August 20, 2013 at her home.
Visitation will be 9am-10am Friday at Damascus Baptist Church. Services will be 10am Friday at Damascus Baptist Church with burial at Damascus Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Heggins was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, playing the piano, and singing. She cared for her baby, Skitter, her dog. Mrs. Heggins loved life and lived a Christian life to the fullest.
Mrs. Heggins was preceded in death by her husband, Keither Heggins, granddaughter, Lisa Heyward, brothers, Henry, Paul and Edward Van Etten, and sisters, Ann Van Etten Renfro and Christine Van Etten Stringer.
Survivors include: sons, Daniel Heggins of Anchorage, Alaska, Donald Heggins of Hazlehurst, and Stephen Heggins of Richland; daughter, Sandra Chapman of Mandeville, LA; sisters, Lynn Knight of Hazlehurst, and Gaye Smith of AR; grandchildren, Trina Ferrell, Kittrell Conn, Rachael Heggins, Kimberly Heggins, Caleb Heggins, Aaron Heggins, Kyle Heggins, Anna Heggins, Tyler Heggins, Haley Heggins, and Jessica and Jake Chapman; and 8 great grandchildren.
