Thelma Papizan

Thelma Lucille Hembree Papizan, 98, of Crystal Springs, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at her home. 

Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs and 10am-11am Thursday at First Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, September 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Crystal Springs, with interment at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Papizan was a native of Crystal Springs, born to the late Jeff David Hembree and Vivian Cora Howell Hembree.  She loved her church and was an active member of First Baptist Church where she served as a children’s Sunday school teacher.  She enjoyed gardening and watching God’s creations around her. 

Her husband, Grady Stanley Papizan, of 64 years and four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. 

Most people called her Mrs. Thelma, but to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she will always be lovingly remembered as “Grandmama.”

Mrs. Papizan is survived by her sons, Stanley (Dot) Papizan, and Larry (Faith) Papizan; and daughter, Beverly (William) Teasley; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
