Carroll Harris

Carroll Little Harris, 91, Crystal Springs, died Friday, October 18, 2013 at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst. 

Visitation will be 5pm-7pm Sunday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs.  Services will be 11am Monday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Crystal Springs Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.

 
Mr. Harris was born on January 3, 1922, to P. A. and Sallie Harris of Rockport.
 
Mr. Harris was retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Jackson where he worked for 32 years as a dispatcher and a supervisor in the advertising department.  He received a purple heart for serving in World War II with the 7th Division Scout Company of the US Army.
 
Mr. Harris was a member of First Baptist Church since 1951 where he worked for many years as a Sunday school teacher and usher.  He was an active member of the Cattleman’s Association for many years and was also a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
 
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louis Fortenberry Harris.
 
Survivors include:  sons, Chester Harris and wife Suzanne of Dayton, Ohio and Steven Harris and wife Nan of Crystal Springs and sister Margaret Page of Hattiesburg;  his four grandchildren, Jennifer Enseleit and husband, Stephen of Oakwood, Ohio; Greg Harris and wife, Amanda of Southbend, Indiana; Mandy Mize and husband, Leland of Crystal Springs and Bethany Koury and husband, Matthew of Jackson; and seven great-grandchildren; Gavin, Garrett, and Avery Enseleit; Calvin and Caety Harris; and Ethan and Ashton Mize.
 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Building Program, P. O. Box 609, Crystal Springs, MS 39059.
