Billy C. Williams

Billy C. Williams, 77, of Gallman, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Visitation will be Monday from 5pm-8pm at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs.  Services will be 2pm Tuesday at Stringer Family Chapel.
Born in Tilton, on November 4, 1935, to Clyde and Bertie Williams, Billy was a graduate of Georgetown High School.  The University of Mississippi Medical Center was a big part of his life for a long time.  He was an employee there at age 17 as a night repairman when ground breaking took place at the Medical Center in 1955.  He retired after 45 years of continuous service as Associate Director of Plant Operations.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jerald Williams, Ancell Williams and his sister Faye Adams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty J. Williams; two sons, Billy P. (Rick) Williams (LeAnne) and David Williams (Jennifer); grandchildren Patrick Williams (Lyndse), Lacey Williams Whittington (Ben), Michael Williams and Clayton Williams; great granddaughter Ady Devry Williams; siblings Ray
Williams, Richard Williams, Annie Walker and Melba Darsey.
Billy was a long time member of Georgetown Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.  He was most recently a member of First Baptist Church, Crystal Springs.  He loved traveling with his wife, spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren’s activities and was an avid golfer.

Memorials may be made to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
