Lavon Scurlock
Lavon Scurlock, 89, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Hardy Wilson Hospital.
Visitation will be 4pm-6pm Thursday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Graveside services will be 10am Friday at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Greenwood, MS. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Scurlock was a member of First Baptist Church Hazlehurst, Crystal Springs Floral Club, 50+ Club, Actioneers and the Homemakers Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Scurlock, daughters, Myra Wiggins and Kay Scurlock, parents, Myra and Harvey Taylor and a brother, Ray Taylor, Sr.
She is survived by grandson, Rob Wiggins of Hattiesburg, sisters, Imogene Cheek and Charlotte Anding (Jerry) all of Hazlehurst; sister-in-law, Laura Taylor of Hazlehurst; niece, Diana Banes (Larry) of Hazlehurst; nephews, Ray Taylor, Jr. (Connie) of McComb, Eddie Taylor (Peggy) of Hazlehurst, and Buddy Harold Cheek (Jean) of Hazlehurst; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
