Animal shelter gala helps the animals
The 3rd Annual Copiah Animal Shelter GALA, held Saturday night Dec. 7, was a very successful fundraiser for the animals! About 200 animal lovers came together for a fun evening of auctions, raffles, good food, and live entertainment.
The event Emcee was Radio DJ Rick Adams, from MISS 103 in Jackson, who spoke about the Shelter’s mission, and ways to help, such as volunteering and joining membership. We enjoyed musical entertainment by Copiah County’s own Babs Wood, from Pat O’Brien’s Piano Lounge in New Orleans.
Each year Copiah Animal Shelter hosts an animal-themed Student Art Contest for Copiah County students, grades 1-8. The artwork is displayed at the Gala. Overall winners are selected and receive small monetary prizes.
