WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Band and Colette Alumni Chapter is sponsoring their third annual “Princess Ball” for fathers and daughters on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Thames Center on the Wesson Campus.
The purpose of the event is to raise money to fund the Clyde Wilson scholarship for band and Colette students. Band and Colette Alumni Chapter past president and event organizer Mark Hamilton said the event is the only event of its kind in the area, and not only will it be an opportunity for the organization to raise funds, but it is an opportunity for fathers and daughters to connect.
“This is a chance for fathers and grandfathers to experience a bonding time like no other, and to create memories that will last a lifetime,” Hamilton said. “We’ve had great success for the past two years, and we want to build on that success for our third year.”
The event is open to fathers, grandfathers and father figures and girls ages 5-15. The event times will be separated by age groups with a ball for 4-9 year-olds from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and for 10-15 year-olds from 8-10 p.m. Tickets to the event are $30 per couple and $10 for each additional child. The cost of the ticket includes refreshments, door prizes and ballroom dance instruction. Dress for the event is formal, and photography will be available for an additional fee. Tickets are available at the Alumni office as well as the main branches of Copiah Bank, First Bank, Bank of Franklin, and Pike National Bank in Copiah, Franklin, Lawrence and Lincoln counties.
