Chamber banquets produce ‘little moments’

All three chambers in Copiah County have held their annual membership banquets over the past couple of weeks.  I was able to attend two and enjoyed hearing Rick Cleveland at Hazlehurst’s and Marshall Ramsey at Wesson’s.  Mostly, we celebrated each chamber’s accomplishments over the past year and recognized all the good works done daily by each chamber’s award winners.
Hearing the story told by my old friend Ramsey Marx–about hiding the fact he and his sister Whitney, who both live out of the county now, were at the Hazlehurst banquet to be present when his mother Diane was surprised with Citizen of the Year–was almost as memorable as the tribute paid to Diane from longtime friend Dr. Fred McDonnell.  Moments like these are what make these banquets worth putting on and attending each year.  What a great job done by all those who worked on these chamber banquets this year!
