Mickey L. Brown

Mickey L. Brown, 68, of Wesson, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at his home. 

Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Wednesday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.  Services will be 2pm Thursday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Sardis Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Mr. Brown was born in Hazlehurst and resided here in Copiah County his whole life.  He graduated from Hazlehurst High school and attended 2 years at Co-Lin and 2 years at Delta State.  He was a member at Sardis Baptist Church.  Mr. Brown was athletic, played college football for Co-Lin and devoted 20 years of life playing softball for local businesses and churches in Copiah County.  He enjoyed fishing, outdoor life, football games and in his younger years he enjoyed coaching little league youth teams for Hazlehurst.  Mr. Brown was retired from Cross Roads Distributors as a driver traveling out of state. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Mary Etta Ayers Brown; brothers, Bert Brown and Aubrey (Ray) Brown; and sisters, Estelle Brown Lowery and Ester Lee Brown Miller.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Dianne James Brown; daughters, Melissa Brown Rutledge and Allison Brown McKay both of Wesson and Mandi Brown Starnes of Hazlehurst; brothers, Warner Brown of Moss Point, MS, and Arlander Brown of Jacksonville, FL, sisters, Mary Anne Nations of El Paso, TX, and Carol Bishop of Vicksburg; 9 grandchildren, one great grandson and one great grandson on the way.
