A SIGHT FOR SORE EYES – Essie Lee McCarthy ‘s home is located on 112 S Massengil Street in Hazlehurst. You can’t miss it because it is the home surrounded by beautiful flowers of every color shape and size. Her majestic pine trees give much needed shade from the blistering summer sun. She incorporated a pot-bellied stove setting that is a great conversation piece. Alderwoman Shirley Sandifer awards the Yard of the Month prize monthly to someone in her ward that exemplifies beautification.
