Albert E. Watts, 74, of Hazlehurst, died at his home on July 7, 2014.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Damascus Baptist Church of Hazlehurst. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will continue at the church Wednesday from 12 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m.
He was born in Lincoln County on September 27, 1939 to the late Pearlie Watts and Evie Smith Watts.
Mr. Watts was a retired mechanic at Wise Motor Company of Hazlehurst and was a member of Damascus Baptist Church, Hazlehurst.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Renee Powell; his sister, Mavis Watts Allen; his three brothers, Marvin Watts, Dee Roy Watts, and Troy Watts.
Mr. Watts is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Cheroni Watts of Hazlehurst; one son, Rodney Watts, of Hazlehurst; one granddaughter, Nikki Bates and husband Chad of Crystal Springs; one grandson, Brandon Powell and wife Lindsey of Mendenhall, MS; five sisters, Mary Alice Strong, Gladys Smith, Nita Wilson, Helen Huffman and husband Denton, and Frances Hall and husband Ernest; four great-grandchildren, Baleigh Bates, Cameron Bates, Landry Bates, and Rowdy Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, Brookhaven, MS
