Fishing great at Calling Panther

According to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, Calling Panther Lake, located in West Copiah County, is having a great year.
The water temperature is in the mid-80s.

Bass
Bass fishing is fair.   Try fishing the creek channel.  Big worms and lizards in june bug, pumpkin seed, and watermelon red colors have been best.   Harvest of small bass is encouraged at this lake.
Bass Daily Limit:  30 per day, only one over 20 inches.

Bream    
Bream fishing has slowed some; try redworms fished on the bottom. 

Catfish
Catfishing is still good.  Anglers are having success during late evenings and at night using hot dogs and liver fished on the bottom.  Bank fishing from the nature trail is also a good place to try for catfish.  

Crappie
Crappie fishing is slow.  Try the creek channel in 6-8’ of water with small minnows.  Fishing around structure with small minnows and jigs is also a good bet.  Blue and white is a popular color.
