Lellon West
Lellon Inez McGee Farmer West, 85, of Hazlehurst died Sunday, July 27, 2014.
Visitation will be 12pm-1pm Wednesday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Services will be 1pm Wednesday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Galilee Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mrs. West was a lifelong resident of Hazlehurst. She was born on January 8, 1929 in the Barlow Community to Mr. Eddie Vanderbuilt McGee and Mrs. Bernita Inez McInnis McGee. She was married to the former Hal Ellis Farmer of Rockport, and later in life to Marion D. West of Hazlehurst.
She was a homemaker, wife and mother. She enjoyed writing poetry, needlework and keeping up with current events. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by Mr. Hal E. Farmer and Mr. Marion D. West, her parents, two brothers, Edwin McGee of Orlando, FL and John McGee of Biloxi and one sister, Mrs. Nell Elizabeth Barlow of the Beauregard Community.
She is survived by her children, Danny Hal Farmer (Joyce) of Hazlehurst, Yvonne M. Dunn (Dwayne) of Brookhaven, Joy Dianne Kennedy of Wesson, Elizabeth Lellon Shows (Gerry) of Florence, Martha Berry Bounds (Lee) of Madison, and one step daughter, Patricia Benson of Hazlehurst. She was also survived 7 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.
