S.K. HARTLEY

S.K. Hartley Jr., 87, of Lafayette, LA died Monday, July 21, 2014.

Born and raised in Hazlehurst, the son of S.K. (Shi) and Lela Hartley, was a member of the Hazlehurst Methodist Church, attended Co-Lin Jr. College, and joined the Navy during WW II. After the war, he attended Tulane University on the GI Bill and received his Law Degree. While attending school in New Orleans, he met and married his beloved wife Bernice Buckleh.

Mr. Hartley had a successful career as an oil and gas attorney in Houston, TX and Lafayette, LA.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his son Steve, and his sister Charlotte Love of Oceanside, CA.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Hartley; his sons Rick Hartley of Baton Rouge, LA and Randy Hartley of Houston, TX; and his brother Edward Van Hartley of Katy, TX.
