Raiford Crews, 81, of Crystal Springs, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at his home.
Visitation will be 5pm-7pm Tuesday and 1pm-2pm Wednesday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services will be 2pm Wednesday at Stringer Family Chapel with interment at Poplar Springs Cemetery Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
He served as a member of The State Occupational Information Coordinating Committee, representing Mississippi Employment Security Commission
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Crystal Springs. Over the years he served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, a member of various committees, and the Golden Choir.
In the spring of 2013, he was inducted into the Foundation Hall of Fame by the Copiah-Lincoln Foundation, Inc. For many years he was as active member of the Area Fifty-Plus Club, serving two terms as president and three years as photographer.
He is an active member of The Heritage Foundation’s Leaders Club, Member of Liberty Counsel, American Center for Law and Justice, Judicial Watch, and the Alliance Defending Freedom.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Susan Crews and brother, Gerald Crews.
Survivors include: his wife Edna Earle Patridge Crew; son, Raiford Glen (Ford) Crews II and wife Melody of Crystal Springs; daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Earle Crews Bailey and husband Ray of Brandon; sister, Becky Richardson and husband Bill of Flora; grandchildren, Landon Glen Crews, Kara MacKenzie Bailey, Karley Beth Bailey, Kellie Grayce Bailey, and Kristen Elise Bailey.
