Charlie Sojourner

Charlie Sojourner, 84, of Crystal Springs,died Thursday, August 14, 2014.

Visitation will be at noon on Saturday, August 16, at Harmony Baptist Church with funeral services following at 2:00 pm at the church. Stringer Funeral Services in Crystal Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sojourner was born on December 15, 1929 in Crystal Springs to Charlie Clemon Sojourner and Virginia Pearl Bell Sojourner. He lived his entire life in his hometown of Crystal Springs. He was owner and operator of Sojourner Trucking Company, CS Trucking Company, and Krystal Gravel Company. He touched many lives with his kind and generous spirit and his love for life, his family, and his Lord.

Mr. Sojourner was preceded in death by his parents; his son Jimmy Sojourner; and his brother Clemon Sojourner.

He is survived by his wife Bobbye Touchstone Sojourner; his daughter Jan Sojourner of Jackson, Ms; his daughter Nan (Randy) Randall of Indianola, Ms; his granddaughters Catherine Randall Fandel of New Albany, Ms and Sarah Nan Randall  of Jackson, Ms; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 6057 Harmony Road, Crystal Springs, Ms 39059 ; ” We Will Go” Ministries , 799 North Congress Street, Jackson, Ms 39202; or the charity of choice.
