Dewey Beasley

Dewey Wayne Beasley, 72, of Collins, passed away September 14, 2014 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins where he had been a resident since April 2011.  Wayne was born in Laurel on May 4, 1942.  His childhood was spent in Copiah County and his teenage years were in Morton and Magee.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 15th from 10am-11am at Stringer Family Funeral home in Hazlehurst with graveside services at 11am at Georgetown Cemetery in Georgetown.

Wayne retired from the United States Navy in 1980 after 20 years of service and returned to Hazlehurst where he lived until moving to Hattiesburg in 2003.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father Willard Beasley, his mother Adonis McNeil Beasley, brother, Glynn Neil Beasley and nephew Richie Shane Beasley.

He is survived by brother, Lawrence Beasley and wife Cynthia of Mantee; sisters, Sharon Harrell and husband Jim of Hattiesburg and Linda Sue Beasley of Hattiesburg; 7 nephews, 3 nieces, 8 great nephews and 5 great nieces.
